Rise Anew 21 Day Transformation Health and Wellness Program by kkidd0622
I have a bit of a story to tell. I will tell a bit of that here but I'll tell more as we go along this journey together. I want to say my wellness journey has been an up and down battle. I was in the fitness industry for most of my adult life and lived the life I so believed in and loved. And then one day I got sick. I didn't know what was wrong with me but I couldn't seem to get better. For quite a few years I lived in a horrible pain and I had to give up the career I so loved. I was raising my three children alone when this happened and life became quite a struggle....not that it wasn't already a struggle as life generally is, But now it was a REAL struggle. After a few years of this pain and sickness I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I seriously did not know what that even was. Fibro what? This was before this condition became widely known. All I knew is I could barely function. To the outside world people probably thought I was functioning but I was not. I cried many mornings and nights. Every single task was difficult. I had to keep going because no one else was going to raise my kids and I was at a loss as to what in the world was going on with me. People accused me of being lazy (me of al people) or faking it or in depression or whatever. I was looked down on. People would not believe me when I told them what I was diagnosed with and everyone had a cure. When I got the diagnosis it was great but it didn't help me overcome. Doctors put me on all sorts of different meds, trying this and that. They would say, "oh this pill is going to make you feel like a million bucks!" Only it never did. So they would try a different one and say the same thing. All it did was cause me to gain weight and have no emotion. I also was dealing with restless leg syndrome, which is a terrible fate. Thank goodness there IS a medication helping me on that. Anyway, after my mother passed in 2014 I said to myself that I'm so sick and tired of being sick and tired. I decided to figure out how I was going to get well on my own. I quit my meds cold turkey, went through what felt like heroin withdrawals (they never mentioned that would happen) for two weeks and then suddenly felt alive. I then completely changed my diet and started to do what I could to exercise despite pain. The first day I tried to exercise I sat on the floor and cried! But days led into weeks into months of not giving up and I suddenly was in a remission. I felt better than I ever had in my life. I had lost the weight that was gained from the meds and lack of exercise and was getting stronger and stronger. I started my career back up again! It was a good time. That is when I designed the 21 Day "Rise Anew" Transformation Program. I tried it with a group of ladies and it went well. I then decided to make it a program to publish. It has been sitting on the back burner for a long time because just as I was about to launch it I fell at the annual Pat's Run and broke both legs, tore out my hip and injured my back where I now live with protruding discs. It took 6 months to heal from the breaks and to get my hip replacement surgery. The surgery was a fail and for 5 years no doctor has wanted to touch my case. I live in pain, weakness that is permanent. The most a doctor would say is, "There are good doctors and then there are not so good doctors. And that's all I will say." Can you believe it? So I suffer not being able to walk distances or run ever again and cannot do lunges or any exercise that I so loved doing before. I have gone through more PT than anyone probably and it always ends with I can't do anything more for you. But a doctor won't either. I lost my career....again! And this time I can't seem to fix me. To top it off, I fell on Christmas and tore out the knee of the other leg. It has been 6 months, two shots and I still cannot walk. It is very very difficult to handle since fitness was my way of life. Not being able to move much when movement was my life is devastating. But, I still believe I will be on the other side of this one day. It will become my 2nd transformation program. But for now, I am excited to present the first one and do what I can to work with it with you all. I'm also in the belief that God has a plan and I need to stay focused on Him and know that He has it all worked out. So I would say I am in an in-between place. It is hard to explain. It's a place and a time where I'm a bit in limbo. I'm kind of homebound and it can seem like nothing is happening on the outside but everything is actually happening underneath. I can tell you I am no longer who I used to be but I'm not yet where I'm going to be or who I'm becoming. Yes, I have outgrown my old life and places but I haven't fully stepped into the new. It is a bit disorienting waiting on the next chapter. It is also a place of preparation and renewal. I call it being hidden in God's secret place and it is there He does some of His best work. I'm counting on it as difficult as it can be. "Whoever dwells in the secret place of the most high will rest in the shadow of the Almighty." Yes, it's difficult but God is in the work. If you are in that place just know we are being prepared and getting stronger. It's a process that we sometimes can't see. His understanding is just higher than ours. It can show up in different ways. For me, it's in a process of healing my body. But it could be in navigating a calling, overcoming something, trying to rebuild finances, perhaps in breaking generational curses or praying for clarity in relationships. (Hmmmm, I think I fit all of those, ha!) It can feel like you are standing still, not going anywhere. But underneath something is being established if you allow it to be. We aren't stuck we are being strengthened. The hidden place can be difficult but we are being transformed. The impatience is ours. I know this all too well. If we try to jump ahead and do it the wrong way we often end up falling flat. I know first hand that I want to hurry it all along to get to where those places of elevation are but it is so important to stop and realize we live life best in God's timing and ways. Slow down sweet souls.
So for now, I would like to post this video intro to the 21 day Rise Anew Transformation Program. It is an exciting and healing program and stems from the story of the Phoenix Bird and I will tell of that in the next blog. I love you all so much. You mean the world to me. Life is short and we have to love every minute of every day and love those around us. So, watch the video and tell me what you think of the video intro. Also, I would love to hear from you if you also feel you are in that in between place in life, waiting for the next chapter to begin.
